Ragweed's Farm Dog Handbook

A lot of farm's have a farm dog. We don't have one at Bremer Farms, but if we did... this would be a great handbook for our new dog! I think Ragweed, the farm dog, has a pretty good plan to get all the biscuts he can eat!

Let's take a look at more of the farm cats at Bremer Farms.

Cookie's Week

Cookie's Week is one of Farmer Sara's favorite books from her childhood. It's all about a curious (naughty) kitty. Sara loved this book so much, that she named one of her favorite cats, Cookie.

After our story, Farmer Sara introduces you to some of her favorite kitties.

See you tomorrow!

K Is For Kitties

Each time I give a dairy presentation, you can bet I will get asked this question, "Besides cows, what other animals do you have on your farm?" Gone are the days of farms having a few chickens, a few pigs, maybe some sheep, along with some cows. Now farms typically concentrate on one species of animals. A farmer may choose beef cattle, or pigs, or chickens, or turkeys for instance. We chose dairy cows...and cats.

We were recently blessed with many new additions to our "kitty crew." I'd like you to meet-

Sleepy,

Dopey (the goofy one),

Doc (the serious one),

Sneezy (probably hay fever),

Bashful (no explanation needed),

and Happy and Grumpy (their names are inter-changeable depending on their mood).

These "dwarfs" are a great addition to Bremer Farms. There is one problem with having kittens on our farm however. Sometimes our chores take longer. Come on, who could walk by this crew without giving a snuggle, or two? We can't.

See you tomorrow!

In other news...

Remember back in June... K Is For Kitten Meet some of the newest additions to Bremer Farms. Sara and I both noticed an offer we couldn't refuse in our school email. "10 kittens. Free to a good home."
Here they are two months later.
All ten...
are still...
going and...
growing strong,
even Rebel (on the right) is behaving!

More news...
This past week we also completed combining oats. The oats are now safely tucked in the grain bin.

They are stored here until they are mixed with corn and minerals and then fed to our cattle.
And finally the last bit of news for this week...

Sara and I had fun off the farm as we were invited to compete on a new game show on Hastings Community TV Go For The Dough.

Watch Go For The Dough here.

Only 6 more days until the Great Minnesota Get-together!
See you there!
