K Is For Kids

I'm taking you on a journey from A to Z through the land of dairy!
There's no need to pack your bags, just come along!
 K Is For Kids

Today I want to share some facts about dairy and school meals.
  • Kids who eat school breakfast and lunch consume more milk than those who don't.
  • Nutritional Standards For School Lunches require low-fat or fat-free milk to be offered with each school meal.
  • Since 2006 the dairy industry has reduced added sugars by an estimated  38 % in the chocolate milk offered in schools. Most flavored milk is just 31 calories more than white milk.
  • Cheese and yogurt qualify as meat substitutes in school meals.

  2. Thanks for the kind words, Sarah. We dairy farmers take our job very seriously, just like your kids take learning and doing their best seriously. Will Flat Aggie be a part of your teaching again this year? Let me know if you ever get to Minnesota. I'd love to show you our farm.
